  Pandora Rocks!
The Singing Songwriter
Kenny Hart an award-winning singing songwriter and freelance writer from the Greater Cincinnati area wrote us recently. A champion of independent songwriters and artists, he currently writes music articles and reviews for Indie-music.com, Music News Nashville, LockerGnome Media Center, and his own online publication, The Singing Songwriter. With more than thirty-five years' experience as a writer, singer/songwriter, and musician, Kenny has touched and been touched by nearly every musical genre; his passion for music is not fettered by boundaries.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Kenny suggested we try the PANDORA SYSTEM

Pandora Rocks!

Imagine! he said, you're the program director of your own radio station; no, wait, you're the program director for 100 radio stations. You can choose anything you want for your playlist, the kind of music you like, the artists you like, your favorite songs. You can program any station any way you want to impress whomever you want and you can shuffle the stations any way you want to create the most unique mix you've ever heard. The computer will choose the music based on your preferences. Want more of a certain sound? Give it a thumbs up. Want less? Give it a thumbs down. I've been "training" my station for a couple of days and it just keeps on giving me great music. I've given many more thumbs-ups than thumbs-down. And you won't just be fed music from "popular" artists; in fact, you'll hear many artists you've never heard of.

This is Pandora.

Go there. First time users don't have to register, so you can play with it with no worries. I registered. Punch in an artist's name or a song name. Point your mouse at the album icon and vote thumbs-up or thumbs-down on every song you hear for a while and see what happens. Experiment. Set up more stations. Enjoy yourself. Believe me, you'll be hooked within 10 minutes. I was. Still am. Probably will be forever.

Thanks for telling us about PANDORA Kenny,we had fun!

James Brown the Godfather of Soul at 73

James Joseph Brown, Jr. (May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006), commonly referred to as "The Godfather of Soul", was an American entertainer recognized as one of the most influential figures in 20th-century popular music.

As a prolific singer, songwriter, bandleader, and record producer, Brown was a seminal force in the evolution of gospel and rhythm and blues into soul and funk. He left his mark on numerous other musical genres, including rock, jazz, reggae, disco, dance and electronic music, afrobeat, and hip hop music.

Brown began his professional music career in 1953 and skyrocketed to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s on the strength of his thrilling live performances and a string of smash hits. In spite of various personal problems and setbacks, he continued to score hits in every decade through the 1980s. In the 1960s and 1970s Brown was a presence in American political affairs, noted especially for his activism on behalf of African Americans and the poor.

Brown was recognized by a plethora of (mostly self-bestowed) titles, including Soul Brother Number One, Mr. Dynamite, the Hardest-Working Man in Show Business, Minister of The New New Super Heavy Funk, Mr. Please Please Please, The Boss, and the best-known, the Godfather of Soul. He was renowned for his shouting vocals, feverish dancing and unique rhythmic style.

My first encounter with James Brown was the 1964 movie T.A.M.I. SHOW introduced me to James Brown who sang "Please Please Please" as they threw his coat over his shoulders and led him sobbing off the stage only to have JB run back under the lights to resume his antics over and over. the Power and Suspense
