Podcasting: working alone is a drag
This was fun when I didn't know what I was doing and I just winged it.. but as I got more technical and experimented with new stuff I found it even harder to stay focused. It would be nice to have someone to sound off with when my friend zen was in the area we had plenty of ideas.I work with podcast station and at first it was free flowing and quick paced. I used what I had in my montage library and eventually ran out of sponsor ads and ideas for campaigns to make more short spots. I was receiving 1 cd a week this summer and I really wasn't into playing DJ it was too nice outside. On rainy days I programmed beats with fruity loops only to flush them after realizing how silly it all was. I played around with PODCAST STATION try to get a consistant microphone voice and may have found a setting that suits me ... the default setting. I also found out that lowering the carts 15% gives you more control on the big picture. The three input faders are at -15db and the monitor at 0db. For those of you who know what I'm refering to. The rest of you who are still with me, let me say this that sometimes you just have to jump in and doit and that's what I did, even though I was called to the door and the telephone rang still I was able to cut out the dead air and splice the show togeher and continue on with next to no effort at all ... ah the wonder of RADIO ON DEMAND.

HERE'S what I produced with only my intuition and PODCAST STATION:
